Dawie Botha has been with Anthonij Rupert Wyne in the red wine cellar since its inception in 2005 and became the head winemaker in 2012. Dawie has done many overseas crushes, including Chateaux de Franc in Bordeaux in 2002 and Fetzer Vineyards in California in 2004. His excellent Anthonij Rupert red wines presently in the market have all received 90+ in Wine Spectator Magazine. His Anthonij Rupert 2007 blend received 95 points, which is the highest score ever for any South African Cabernet blend in the Wine Spectator Magazine. He was also instrumental in the making of the 2012 Cape of Good Hope Altima Sauvignon blanc, the latter having won the Bartho Eksteen Challenge.
